A Kid Friendly Approach to Wellness
In this fast-paced world where adults are constantly trying to keep a balance between their professional and personal lives, children sometimes don’t always get the attention that they need. Even worse, what they do get, are the unintentional effects of our own stresses. Between the additional demands of school, home, sports and busy schedules, there is little room for a child’s own expression of creativity and peace.
What if we taught our children how to deal with potentially stressful situations in a fun and age-appropriate manner? Imagine if they had the tools to alleviate stress and improve their focus and could continue these benefits throughout their lives?
Balance on the Go has developed a childrens playtime workshop that will help guide each child to reach their own inner potential in order to handle personal stress. We strive to help them create a solid platform of individuality as they grow up in a world where they experience a variety of external influences. Through a collection of energy-based activities and games, your child will enjoy learning the essential skills of quieting the mind and expressing their energy in a positive way.
All of our services that are offered for adults are also available for children and teens. Depending on the age group, the activities will be appropriately adjusted. We emphasize kindness, compassion and teamwork.
Children/Teens and their Friends can participate in:
1. Yoga Instruction - Yoga for kids includes stretching, breath work, and postures taught by a certified Yoga Instructor in an age appropriate manner. For the younger ones silly names that relate to the poses are given to make it even more fun, The pace is adjusted accordingly to keep their attention and enjoyment. And while stretching is certainly involved in Yoga, it is really about creating balance and flexibility in both the body and mind. Through practicing yoga, children can learn ways to relax and get control of stress in their personal and academic lives. This can be done in any room in your house or apartment or anywhere else you might designate like your backyard or the park.
2. Chair Massage – Anyone who has gotten a massage understands the many benefits that it offers. 3. Personal Trainer – Personal training is fun for kids and gaining popularity for anyone above the age of 8. With the progressively increasing rate of children in front of a video screen, kids are experiencing less physical activity. This inactivity has created a new generation of kids who are out-of-balance- when it comes to their physical to mental abilities. There are physically out of shape and or overweight. Whether the child or teen is an athlete and needs sport-specific training or just a general wellness program the benefits are exciting and far reaching. This can be either be a one-on-one personal training experience or a group session by a certified Personal Trainer. Our trainers are experienced working with children and their varying motivation levels. Sometimes it just becomes more fun by sharing the experience with friends. Their fitness level will be evaluated and then a suitable program will be set up to help each individual child and their friends to reach goals, have fun and to stay motivated.
4. “Friendship” Team Building Games - Sometimes we forget that even kids can get caught up in the everyday stresses of their personal and academic lives. Furthermore, competition is so heavily emphasized in today’s society that kids are encountering unnecessary stress at younger and more impressionable ages. This can negatively affect both our children as individuals and their relationships with their friends and family. These “friendship” Team Building games have been developed to engage your child and their friends or family members in a fun, age appropriate and challenging way to alleviate stress and create stronger relationship bonding. We always encourage friendship, communication, compassion and teamwork.
5. Adult Treasure Hunts - A TREASURE HUNT is a lot more than just a “scavenger hunt”. Our custom clues and challenging puzzles take teams of kids on a wild chase filled with fun and mystery It is an entertaining way to channel their competitive spirit while working together toward a common goal. 6. Meditation – Not only is meditation appropriate for children but should be naturally taught a younger age so that the habit is formed early on in order to handle potentially stressful situations. A child worried about a test, for instance, might use the meditation or breathing techniques of yoga to help him or her calm down and focus.
With the appropriate age level taken into consideration, children or teens are taught various techniques of meditation or what can otherwise be referred to as “conscious relaxation” . This can help a child get beyond the conditioned “thinking” mind into a deeper state of relaxation or awareness. Through meditation they can gradually improve their powers of concentration; this focus can be used to enhance their own innate abilities and other activities they engage in such as school, sports or reading. Many parents are employing meditation methods for their children as an alternative to medication and other more aggressive methods to improve performance in all areas of their lives.
7. Energetic Healing – Children respond to this type of re-balancing faster than we do. They tend to be more open and have accumulated less “negative life experiences” that act as blocks for this type of holistic approach. Certified energetic healers look beyond the physical to manipulating subtle energy systems where the cause of negative issues can be located. Trauma, emotional and mental stress, false belief systems, physical distress, environment stress, and other blocks to our children’s personal growth can be stored in the energy fields of their bodies, impacting your child’s ability to function at his or her full potential.
Quantum physics has acknowledged that we are all made up of energy, as is everything around us. It is the most basic building block of life, but like the air we breathe most people can’t see it. Energy flows through everything and creates everything. Even our thoughts and emotions are energy. It is just a difference in the vibrational frequency of energy that gives us the illusion of substance and separation, rather like water moving from solid ice at slower vibration, to fluids and then to steam at higher vibrations.
Our children’s personal energies are delicately balanced and like us they can become sick, tired or feel “not quite right” when their energy flows are disturbed or blocked. Parts of or an entire family can experience energy imbalances that can result from both internal and external factors. Energetic Healing involves directing the natural flow of universal energy, similar to recharging a battery. When a battery’s energy supply is low, it doesn’t function well. By introducing a charge to it, it can once again run on its own. Energetic Healing works much the same way. Results are immediate and children feel healthier, calmer, less stressed and more focused. They are more able to handle the demands of school and their everyday lives.
